1900's Antique The "FREE" Sewing Machine Co Rockford IL w/Oak Cabinet for sale in Elburn, Illinois

$150

Very cool antique Sewing Machine in Oack Cabinet from The "Free" Sewing Machine Co, made in Rockford ILL First Patent Feb 11, 1902. Other patent dates listed on metal where the thread goes are: Oct 17-05, July 30-07, Sept 15-08, Dec 21-09, Jan 4-10 and May 20-13. There is another date listed under the first one, but I can't read it. Manufactured for a short time and this is the only one I have ever seen. Rare. Sewing machine is in an Oak cabinet that when closed, has all 4 sides closed in. It is on metal casters. Top opens and becomes a table for the cloth - left side of cabinet swings out to support the top. Right door has storage on it. Petal at the bottom is black cast iron (I believe) and has FREE in the metal. This sewing machine was used as display only, both open and closed, but I do believe it works - thread is still in machine. There is some water damage to the top and other marks. I have never tried to get them out. Inside of the top when it flips open has water marks and a mark from the top of the sewing machine. Great piece and fun to open and display on. I am going through a remodel and trying to clean out some of my antiques and unusual items. Cash only. Pick up only. THANKS!!
